Five years ago, a wonderful woman Grace Brennan from Buy from the Bush contacted me about being featured on their instagram page. I scrambled to send photos that Friday afternoon, not knowing that feature was the very next morning at about 6.00 am (SA time). The next 48 hours, actually the following week, way back in 2019 changed me and Singing Magpie Produce forever. Grace, Al, Millie and the rest the team over the years, and the BFTB community - YOU ALL have supported us through Drought- 2019, COVID 2020, my journey with Breast cancer 2020 -21, Floods 2023-24. Utterly Phenomenal.

A sampler of one of our newest creations Sticky Quince Fig Paste. Our figs are marinated for months in sticky quince syrup, then minced and mixed with citrus powder. The result is a deliciously rich figgy delicacy that you simply cannot get anywhere else in the world.

Dates to remember: Last orders for Christmas will be Sunday 1 December 2024 or earlier if we sell out. We will commence our Christmas Pre-Order dispatches from 2 December 2024. We want to allow plenty of time for possible Australia Post disruptions.

Storage

We recommend keeping your sun-dried fruit in the fridge or freezer.

Chocolate enrobed fruit: A note with the chocolate goodies. We use premium dark. If you notice some discoloration of the chocolate this is simply the cocoa butter separating from the cocoa solids and coming to the surface. It doesn't affect the taste of the chocolate, it's not going mouldy and is probably due to temperature fluctuations. If you don't eat all the goodies in one sitting we recommend keeping them in airtight container at a relatively stable temperature at temps between 12-20 degrees Celsius.

Sticky Quince Syrup: Suitable to be kept sealed in your pantry, refrigeration not required.

Ingredients

Australian sun-dried fruit, preservative (220)

Dark chocolate [unsweetened chocolate 54%, sugar, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, natural vanilla flavour].

Sticky Quince Fig Paste: Australian dried figs, Quince Syrup (quince juice 41%, water 41%, sugar, lemon), citrus powder.

Sticky Quince Syrup: Quince juice (41%), water (41%), sugar, lemon.

Allergen warning

The peaches, apricots, nectarines, plums and pears contains sulphites (preservative 220).
The Dark chocolate couverture contains soy.
The Dark chocolate may contains milk.

Singing Magpie Produce packs a range of produce on shared equipment including dried fruit, pecans and almonds. While we do our best to avoid any kind of cross contamination this can occasionally occur and any of our products may contain traces of these.
